Delhi Court seeks action taken report in plea for FIR Against Manish Sisodia

A criminal complaint was filed before the special MP/MLA Magistrate Court against the Delhi’s Deputy CM seeking registration of FIR by advocate Alakh Alok Srivastava invoking jurisdiction under Section 156(3) of CrPC. It was done alleging Deputy CM for spreading fake news.

He had accused Delhi Police personnel of setting ablaze a DTC bus during violence near the Jamia Millia Islamia in December last year. The complaint by the advocate stated the student protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act as ‘violent’ and being ‘provoked by people with vested interests’.

The statement tweeted by Sisodia stated: ‘There should be an unbiased investigation as to what these uniformed people are putting in the buses with yellow and white colour cans before the buses caught fire, and at whose behest it was done? It is clearly seen in the photo that the BJP has done cheap politics by getting this fire put by the police.”

The complainant cites a statement given by the Additional PRO, Delhi Police substantiating his narrative of the remarks made by the minister he asserted on the fact that instead of putting the bus on fire, the police was trying to extinguish the same. He went on to submit that such an ‘irresponsible and ‘unverified’ statement was not expected from a person holding the office of Deputy Chief Minister.
