The father of the eight year Kathua Rape Case girl who was murdered and raped last year in Jammu & Kashmir district, moved to Punjab and Haryana High Court asking for enhancement of sentence that is been imposed on the six convicts and also challenging the acquittal of one convict.
Petitioner requested the court to enhance the punishment of three convicts from life time imprisonment to capital punishment, named- Sanji Ram, Deepak Khajuria, Parversh Kumar.
Pathankot Court awarded Sanji Ram lifetime imprisonment last month, who was the mastermind and caretaker of ‘devasthanam’, wherein the crime took place in January last year . Where Deepak Khajuria was the special police officer and Parvesh Kumar was the civilian of the gang rape.
They all were convicted under Ranbir Penal Code(RPC) for sections relating to Criminal Conspiracy, Murder, kidnapping, Gang Rape, destruction of evidence and common intention.
According to the charge-sheet that was filed in April last year, the minor girl was kidnapped in January and was raped in a small village temple by Ram after keeping her sedated for four days. And then was later bludgeoned to Death.
According to the source, The father of the deceased Kathua Rape victim also appeals for compensation for the family.
